WHO WE ARE

Our Roots

A Spartanburg institution since 1953.

Walt Holmes, the original, purchased the business and property at 925 W Blackstock Rd, Arcadia SC, then known as Gordos  Lunch, and renamed it Holmes Lunch after he came back from WW2 in 1953. 

Up until 1995, Walt and his wife ran what is now known as Holmes Hotdogs.

In 1995 his daughter Treva and husband Rob bought the business and decided to rename it and concentrate on Walt’s specialty, his hotdogs and famous chili recipe.  

In 2022, Rob and Treva Webb were ready to retire. They were adamant to keep it a family ran business and everything the way Walt would have wanted. 

Kyle “Cowboy” Childers, who had been coming in with his family since he was a child, seemed like the perfect fit.  

After apprenticing for The Webb’s for two years they then retired and sold the business to Kyle.

Kyle and family now own and operate the business and everything is still the same as it was back in 1953 including the chili and slaw.

When you come to Holmes it’s not just about the great food but it’s about the experience.
